Thank you to Miss Childs for her direction, to our students for their talent and practice, to our parents for their support, and to our staff for all the extra time they put in to make such an outstanding concert happen. Well done everyone.
The Third Quarter of school has ended. Look for report cards coming home. And if it doesn't make it home feel free to give us call.
Our McDonald's Night fundraiser will be Tuesday between 4 and 8. Stop in either in the restaurant or the drive through at 621 E 25th St and a potion of your purchase comes back to Emerson.
We are 3/4 of the way through the school year. Everyone's mission this week is to reflect on what mission has meant the most to them this school year and repeat it this week.

Sam Stecher, Emerson Elementary principal, will resign his position this year to become the Superintendent at East Butler Schools in Brainard, Nebraska. Stecher has worked for Kearney Public Schools for the past 17 years.
“I have been a part of Kearney since 1997,” said Stecher. “This community has provided me with the opportunity to earn two degrees, work in three school buildings, and serve thousands of students.”
Stecher began his career at Horizon Middle School as a Social Studies teacher from 1997-2008. He then moved to Kearney High School from 2008-2011 to serve as Dean of Students. From 2011 to the present, Stecher has served as the principal for Emerson Elementary. “I have shared these experiences with educators of unparalleled quality,” Stecher said. “I wouldn't be half the educator I am, without what this community has given me.”
